Chronic invisible illnesses and why it’s important to have more empathy, with Danie van Kay
Today’s guest is Danie van Kay, body positive facilitator, health coach and eating disorder intuitive therapy coach. She is an anorexia survivor and she suffers from chronic Lyme Disease, which I didn’t know much about until I chatted with her, so needless to say she is working hard to raise awareness for chronic invisible illnesses, like Lyme Disease and I am so glad to introduce you to her today.
Her story is an inspiring example of resilience, positivity and strength and I can’t wait for you to listen to my chat with her.
We talk about chronic invisible illnesses and why so many of them go unnoticed AND are also accompanied by disordered eating.
Danie shares her rock bottom moment with her eating disorder and what her recovery and nutritional rehabilitation looked like (her re-feeding process of eating ‘all the things’). We also talk about the importance of body neutrality and how you can apply it to your life especially on bad body image days.
